Is this the funniest joke in the world? Hah! Not hardly, but y’know what? We love it anyway, and you want to know why? Because everyone is just really excited that it’s about spring training! Just like if your favorite player decides to cop an attitude, or if your home team gets your hopes unrealistically high too early, you’re just happy it’s happening! You don’t have to even give football a passing thought until after the playoffs in the fall, you don’t have to pretend to care about basketball any more (although the NCAA tournament at least gives you a good weekend or two as you bide the final weeks until opening day). Baseball is back, everyone, so get your spring trainers on and celebrate!
While we continue our own gearing-up for opening day, we here at The Dugs are also incredibly proud to announce that we’re going to also be appearing on Chicago Now, a site for Chicago area-based blogs run by the Chicago Tribune company with the same kind of strategy behind their RedEye paper. It’s a great opportunity to engage more with local communities with social media, and we’re really grateful to the folks there for accepting us. Don’t worry, we’ll still be posting here on thedugs.com as usual, but you’ll also be able to see us at Chicago Now in the Baseball section. That’s us there, just two slots under Len and Bob, the Cubs radio announcers. So that’s awesome!
