Ghosts of the Dugs 49

This is a true story. Thing is, Chipper never says what improving on last year means. He just says he will retire if “I don’t play this game at the level I want to play it”.

Which is kind of arbitrary. I mean, can he hit .200 then say “Yup, a .200 hitter, that’s the level I wanted to reach?” Or does it mean improving on last year by getting one more hit? If he has a set figure, he could be going into the last game needing to go 2 for 4 with a homer or he’ll retire. Now that’s drama! It’s like a WWE retirement match. Win or leave the business.

Just don’t let Brooks Conrad know this. He’ll take Chipper out with a steel chair.
